In this week’s episode of 52 ‘Til I Do, we’re talking all things grooming and glow-ups with a special guest, Rae Hopkins, esthetician and founder of Beauty Commons! From facials and waxing to manicures and spray tans, we’re covering the most popular pre-wedding treatments for the marriers and everyone else attending your big day!
None of the services we're covering are necessary at all! Whether you want to go all out with a spray tan, nails, and lash extensions, or you're planning to go all natural on your wedding day, make the choices, and appointments that feel most authentic to you. At the end of the day, the only things you truly need to get married are the love you share with your partner and a legal document.Everything else? Just details.
If you and your loved ones have been following the 52-week planning process, by week 20, you're still about 8 months away from the big day. That might seem like a long time (and it is!), but now is actually the perfect time to start thinking about the beauty and self-care side of things!
Starting this process early gives you room for trial and error, and you can have fun with it! Whether that's trying out new services you’ve never experienced before, explore different looks, and figure out what truly makes you feel your best. This is a much better approach than scrambling a month before the wedding and hoping everything turns out perfectly.
Just like you’ll try on your dress or suit (probably more than once!), it’s just as important to test out beauty services ahead of time. Even if it’s something as small as a brow wax.
You don’t want to risk trying a new place or service for the first time a week before your wedding. That’s way too close for comfort, especially if something goes wrong, or doesn't turn out the way you were imagining. Think of it like your attire. You wouldn’t wait until the week before to find that, right?
Disclaimer: These prices reflect services offered by Beauty Commons in 2025! Please note that prices may vary depending on where you live, and the places you choose to book with!
Well… yes and no. We love a good at-home beauty DIY moment, but let’s be honest, we've all had that time where we’ve plucked or trimmed our own eyebrows, and taken off just a little bit too much! So, unless you're 110% confident in your brow-grooming skills, we recommend leaving it to a professional!
And as for those $20 at home brow and lamination kits? They can actually be pretty dangerous! Many of them have incredibly harsh chemicals that, if used incorrectly, can seriously damage and hurt your hair and skin. When it comes to those treatments, it’s always better to play it safe and go with someone who's masterful, and knows what they're doing!
At the end of the day, your wedding is about celebrating love, connection, and the start of a brand new chapter! Not about fitting into anyone else's idea of how you should look. No matter what you choose, you get to decide what makes you feel your best!
